I Am Master And Lord
Why call Me, Lord,
If My commands aren't what you do?
You are to serve a loving Master,
Yet you're not wanting to.
Why give your life to Me,
And then take it back again?
You said you surrender all,
But that was only then.
Who is your Lord now?
Who's the one you're listening to?
Since you're not doing what I say,
Your master must be you.
Yet My arms are opened wide,
And I gently call you back;
I know your war against the flesh,
Where the devil does attack.
I understand how hard it is.
I know you try to do what's right;
But the more you love your Master,
The easier the fight.
Masters take care of those he owns.
He makes sure they're always fed;
He provides clothing, and other needs,
Shelter, and warm bed.
If I, your Master, do this for you,
And much more because of grace;
Then why hurt Me with disobedience
That brings sadness on My face?
Truly, live as I'm your Lord.
Let Me have all of you;
Give Me your heart and mind,
And don't take it back as you often do.
